Home, Southern style that is

Well we enjoyed our time in Laughlin, Nevada. I didn't get to post anything because the Internet service was not too good. We actually stayed in Bullhead City, Arizona. Just across the river from Laughlin at Ridgeview RV Park. This was an RPI park (Resorts Parks International) They are kind of nice as because we belong the cost is only $10/night. It was a nice park with full hookups and TV.

Gambling at the Riverside Casino was not good. For the first time this trip we both lost our $20 bucks. However the main reason we go there was another big success. This time we got to see Mel Tillis. He is 77 years old and has been playing for years. His band was very good. Most of them had been with him for 30 years or more. The steel guitar player had been there 41 years. He made it a point of telling us that he keeps his band in coat and tie. Don't see many bands like that these days. Here are a few pictures of the show. The first on is a video of a song. Click the arrow.

We had payed for three nights at the RV Park, but decided to head out a day early. Mostly we were getting excited to get to Arizona home at Happy Trails. We had not seen the spot we were to stay. It all turned out great. As you can see we are in a great place. The whole pad is covered. There are table and chairs for us to use. According to the plan we were not to get use of the casita. We did however find out there is a washer and dryer in there. I sent a note sort of begging. Here are a couple pictures of the new place.

After we got in yesterday and got set up. We meant some of neighbors. The place on our left side appears to be the neighborhood meeting place. They had a bunch over last night. We were invited as well. Looks like this will be a lively place to stay. I went over for a bit but had to come back as our friend Virginia Hessler, who lives at Arizona Traditions, and her guy Bo. They visited for a while and then Bo went and got pizza for dinner. We will see more of them over the next few months. Was sure nice to have a nice patio to entertain on. The weather is such down here that you mostly live outside. Charlie likes his new hang out. Sue took him for a walk this morning that must have been more than his usual mile. He came back exhausted. He is also very dirty and will get a bath today.
