FYI

Just a quick note. I added a link to another post. On the sidebar to the right on the blog. The one for Steve's TV Travelogue has been there all along. Steve is from Twin Lakes and its very interesting reading about all his experiences. The new one is RV Dreams. They are a couple of full time RVers from the south. Besides reading of their adventures Howard has some really pretty pictures of the places they stay. Its worth the look just to see the photos. Reading back on both Blogs archives are fun as well. Just click on either of them an you can read their blogs.

Change

Haven't had much to blog about lately. But I still need to make a change. Life has been normal. A little golf and a little work. Sue watched the Oscars at Leslies house. I had a job Monday so I stayed home and watched the race. Boats still are not big sellers so I get to spent more time at home. Maybe the stimulus package will fire things up.

I hope things pick up as I'm trying to talk Sue into going south the 1st of October this year. We met a nice couple at the races at PIR last year. He is the Fire Chief for San Bernardino County. He and his crew do all the emergency work at the races in Fontana California at the Auto Club Speedway. They have a race there October 10 and 11. He said that he might be able to get us garage passes which would be really cool. At this stage it is just something to dream about. We all need our dreams. Like I said come on stimulus package.

Went up to Safeway last night and as I was checking out they had a little hand puppet on sale for all of $2.50. Had a nice little heart on it. It also had a device inside that when squeezed would play a song. I thought a new toy for Charlie.

Well guess what, Charlie was real happy. It took him about 2 minutes to find the noise maker. He played with it for about 15 minutes before he had the stuffing coming out on the floor. He got his $2.50 out of it.

Like I said it has been a slow blog week.

Tony's Birthday

Tony's birthday was really Wednesday, but we all celebrated it on Friday night at our favorite restaurant, Angelos in Burien. There were six of us. Sue and I, Lee Rufenacht very good friend from our old neighborhood, Margie and Tony and Kristy.

I'm sure most of you know that Tony and Kristy are getting married in Canon Beach on May 17th. They have their web page for the wedding at http://www.kristyandtony.com/.

Anyway back to dinner. I have been going to Angelos for about 40 years. When Margie and I moved to Kent in 1969, we asked the neighbors Fast Frank and Jerry, Frank was the fasted squeegee in the west (Window Washer), they said Angelos. The rest is history. Mark is just one of the brothers that run the restaurant. He sure knows how to make my steak yummy. For the record they have another restaurant in Bellevue and a wine bar in Burien.

Today its Sunday and I finally get to watch NASCAR again. Its the great American race from Daytona Beach Florida. NASCAR starts their season with their biggest race of the season. Hope it doesn't rain. Have to say Go Kasey Kahne and a few others.

A reminder. If you click on the colored links you can go directly to the page. Also if you don't want to deal with Google to send an e-mail note just click on the links on the side bar non the right.

Super Bowl, Beter late than never

It was Super Bowl Sunday. I'm a bit late with this as I actually had some work this last week. I also played a little golf Thursday. Anyway back to the Super Bowl. We had a gathering at Uncle Mikes house for his annual party. There was a lot of people this year. We arrived via Snuffy. It was nice to bring our own house as then we could enjoy the day and not have to drive home. Mike would have loaned us a bedroom, but poor Charlie would have to stay home all night. Here are a few pictures of the gathering.

As with all Super Bowl parties the main subject is gambling. Mike had a football pool board all set up. $1.00 a square. Steve came up with his own game. $5.00 per quarter. Just draw you card. The old ending number stuff. Steve's game paid off $50 bucks a quarter. Sue and I did OK.

As I'm sure most folks know the had a 3-D commercial. So everyone had to get on their glasses for the event. Mike had arranged for lots of glasses.

Mikes new friend Michell

So it was Pizza, Football, gabbing and all the normal Super Bowl stuff. I think Pittsburgh won. It wasn't too bad of a football game. As people drifted away Mike and Taylor came out to the motor home and visited. It was nice to not have to run off. We don't get to talk to Mike too often. He does have a good parking spot.

This time Charlie was still awake but I think his eyes were shutting.
