Back Home

We are back home now. After our golfing weekend in the Tri Cities we went to Portland. We stayed at the Jantzen Beach RV Park on Hayden Island just across the boarder from Washington. They have a nice park with two pools and a lot of other stuff. We just spent the night.

The reason for the trip was I had to finish up looking at a boat that was nearing completion. Sue and I saw the boat last April when it was mostly just a hull. Now it is in the water and just about ready to head to Mexico. The owners/builders Chris and Bill Brees are really nice people. Bill showed me around and Chris gave Sue a tour. This boat is a power catamaran that is 62 feet long and about 20 feet wide. All aluminum construction. Twin 200 hp John Deer Diesel motors. Generator, water maker and a whole lot of other stuff. The plan to travel to Mexico for the winter and Alaska for the summer. Sounds like fun.

After working for a bit we went back to the RV Park and went for a swim. After dinner we went for a walk around the place down to the river. Jantzen Beach is a small community. The RV Park is a small part of it. Mostly it is an old style trailer park. They call them Park Models now. There are quite a few of the trailers that sit right on the river with a great view. It was interesting looking around as I remember living in a 10 x 50 trailer a long time ago. Sue, I and Charlie liked the walk. Charlie was in sniffing heaven. Tuesday we drove home and arrived about 1 PM. Next time out will be Moses Lake for another golf tournament.

Left August 12, 2009, Start 53562 Home. Arrived at Elensburg 53680, at Pasco 53792 at Jantzen Beach 53025 and back at Home 54169 on August 18, 2009 Total trip 607 Miles

A fun weekend

Another golfing weekend is past. Meadow Springs is a great place to play ad the members we have meant are really a nice bunch of folks. Saturday we played well but self destructed in the last 5 holes. We went from 6 under to 3 under. (#^#&%&$%@$&%&$#). We were lucky as a lot of the scores were high. We had Net 69 which put us in the top 10 of 37 players.
Sunday was another beautiful day with the temps around 85. We played with another couple from Meadow Springs. We did better and shot a net 65, which was enough to get a tie for 3rd net in our division. I guess this makes us 3 for 3 this year.

Amy and Jerry

Not that I want to rub in in, but we bet Baileys 5, 5, and 5. $5 for the first day, $5 for the second day and $5 overal. That's a total of $15 bucks if you win it all. I really wanted to stop at the store and get them a sympathise card as they had a bad weekend. Ken was a bit upset that they had to give us 7 strokes each day. (I'm the Twin Lakes Sandbagged now since the Club Championship), but as I said they had a bad weekend. Thanks for the money Ken. You can get it back next time. :) :) :)

They really do it up good here. Last nights dinner was ummie. They have a guy who sings and does a great show, specially for the folks from the 50s and 60s. The theme was Beach Party. Look at this really cool couple.

After golf they had everything set up for lunch a a bunch of drawings, awards and all that sort of stuff. We won 1st team Saturday and 2nd team today. Tie for third in our division Net. Dan and Mary Gleason sored good in 1st division as did All and Joanne Schriber (past Twin Lakers) won low net. Twin Lakes showed up well.

Back at the homestead we watched Tiger lose. We then sat in the shad of the awning and visited with Ken & Elaine. We talked about the tournament and I tried not to dissect every hole. We did talk a lot about dogs.
As with all event, Every thing must move on. Tomorrow we will move to Hyden Island in Portland where I have a bit of a job. (Ugg Work) Then we will be home Tuesday. As you can see Charlie has a lot of sympathy. Ha..Ha...

Another Golfing Adventure

We are off. This was our normal stop in Ellensburg at the Days Inn. Sue was cooking after our trip to the pool and hot tub. Hot tub was nice but the pool was COLD. Oh well still an nice break in the road. We left Wednesday afternoon and stayed there. After a nice breakfast we were off to Richland.

This time its Meadow Springs in Richland, Washington. This is our fourth trip here. Meadow Springs is a very nice golf course. Greens are really fast and the rough is like wire. It really requires a rescue club to have any hope of getting out to the short stuff.

We are staying at Sandy Heights R.V. Resort, which is a KOA Park. The facility is nice with a lot of permanent residents. A little close to the freeway so it is a bit noise. It's a clean place and Charlie likes it, so all is well. About 10 minutes to the golf course.

We did a combination dinner last night with Ken and Elaine. We all brought steaks. Sue made a salad and Elaine did corn. Ken cooked the steaks. All was really good. It was really nice to just hang out and visit.

After dinner the girls walked Charlie and Ken and I did the dishes. We of course did a bang up job. Note the quality of the finished product.

We played our practice round today with Ken and Elaine. The weather was good. A bit overcast and around 77. That is very nice for around here. It's suppose to be in the mid 80s this weekend. That will be great. Last year it was in the mid to high 90s and that was hot. We have quite a few from Twin Lakes here. Besides us and the Baileys, there are also Dan and Mary Gleason, John and Linda Ward from Twin Lakes and also our friends Darrell and Moe are . suppose to be here. They play from Willow Run. After golf we had our customary trip to the bar.

New friends Mark and Joyce Garand and Kevin and Lilah Amos, all from Capitol City) followed us around the course. They also joined us after golf as well as at the Motor Homes later in the day. All in all a enjoyable day.

As we all know the family pet Charlie was back at home with his legs crossed. I wounder how one can cross four legs and still bounce in the air when he sees you. Anyway, he was glad we were home.

Tomorrow will be the tournament. We get to start with Mimosa or Screw Drivers. 8:30 Shotgun. Wish us luck.
