So here we are at the track. This is year four for us. It is also the forth year in the same spot. Our neighbors are the same, the dirt is the same and the fun is the same. If you could hear outside you would hear party everywhere. We got here about 10:30 and parked in our space which is 20 feet by 40 feet. Enough room for a good time, Here we are all set up and a picture of the guys behind us. Same dudes from all the last years.
We went over to the NASCAR credentials area to get our passes for the garage, but they were closed until tomorrow. So we went for a walk down thru the haulers. As we started our walk we saw one of many moving ice chests. Yes, these are motorised Ice chests. Great idea.
We walked on toward the track. They have these really big trucks that they call haulers. They back in, in rows and park the hauler then open the doors. They have all sorts of things NASCAR for sale. Only thing about this time of year is they are really running out of stuff. They plan for the season which is about over. Didn't get a picture of them as they are not all here yet.
So as a reward for all this walking we stopped at the Speed Cantina for a drink. Cool place but the prices are a bit high. Two 16 oz beers $14 bucks. We will be happy when the Track side Club opens the drinks are complimentary.
On our way back to Snuffy and Charlie, we stopped by Bashas Super Market. This is the place that has everything inside the track. I bought some Cheerios. I was out. Even got them on sale.
Back home we settled in and visited with the neighbors for a while, then sat and watched TV on the outside screen for a bit. When we came in this is the view from the front window.
So here we are. The worlds biggest tail gate party. Generators running, fires burning (smells good), lots of people having a good time and getting settled in. There is a constant stream of RVs coming in as I type. Tomorrow we will pick up or garage passes and then head for the track. We need to get in there around 10:30 or so to get to the drivers in the garage. Practice and qualifying start after that. We will get back to the RV and head to the track for the Truck race that starts at 6:00. I will do my next posting Saturday morning.
Some things never change. Charlie is doing much better this year and is really good at begging.
