Sun to Fog

We left the desert Sunday morning. I could not post any pictures yesterday so here they are. It is really interesting leaving the Palm Springs area. North of the city are about a zillion wind generators. I think I read last year that they provide all the energy needs for the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs Area) We tried to get a couple good pictures.

It looks like we got a helicopter as well, but really it was a big green bug that didn't get out of the way.

We left Bakersfield this morning about 8:30. It was sort of sad. When we left the desert it was sunny and on our way to Bakersfield the fog came in. When we left this morning it was cold and we didn't see much the whole trip. Fog all the way. Our first stop was the Harris Ranch. This is about 110 miles north. We have stooped there before. They have a big ranch that grows lots of cattle, fruit, vegetables and even thoroughbred horses. We had a good breakfast Charlie did his job and guarded the motor home. Some of the stuff they hung on the walls.

We are now in Calistoga, Ca. This is at end of the Napa Valley. The Calistoga Fair ground have RV spaces with hook ups. There is a small golf course about 200 yards away. It's a good staging pint for wine tasting in the valley. We have been her before so we do have a couple places to revisit. Mumm Napa for champagne. We are members. And sue loves Cakebread. Every thing is good here except the TV reception. None. And the satellite is out. So we will read and lay back. These pictures are high resolution so if you click on them they should get bigger.
