Joe, Sue and Charlie's adventures: Charlie's 1st Birthday

On Tuesday we pulled out of the Napa Valley and all the good wine. The trip north is interesting as all you see is grape vines for a while then it starts to get into trees and other things. Going thru the Red Wood forest is interesting. The road gets sort of narrow for a while. Little movie here was actually in Oregon but the road was similar.

Our destination was Riverwalk RV park in Fortuna, California. We have tried to find this place before and missed it. We found it this time. Nice place to stay. We went to dinner at a place the said we could walk to. With a little difficultly we found it. Good food. Picture here is of the interior.

Resort was fine. Charlie liked the place. The pool was closed but the hot tub was under repair. We watched TV and had a good night.

The trip further north lead us to Gold Beach, Oregon and the Ocean view RV Park. This place is on the jetty with a good view of the ocean waves crashing on the jetty. We are going to have the steaks we bought at the Harris ranch for dinner tonight. As I write this they were good.
Gold beach is right on the jetty of the Rough river, I think. Sue and Charlie chased a lot of Sea Gulls. I cleaned the windows and checked to see what the rattle was on the roof. It was the TV antenna. Worry about that later.

On the trip north we went thru Crescent City. We stopped at a restaurant that we have visited before. Good food. They have all these decorations around the place. They also have room to park Snuffy in their back forty.

From there we stopped at Rite Aid and Safeway to get Charlie a birthday present. Today he is one year old. At Rite Aid we found his present. A small football. Remember his game in Calistoga. The problem became getting a hat or a bow for his head. A very nice lady at Safeway in the flower department made him a bow. For free no less. I e-mailed her a picture of the birthday boy. I have figured it out too that the pictures don’t get big, I'm working on that. Maybe I’ll figure that out for the next trip as this one is getting close to over. Tomorrow is Lincoln City and the Casino with the NASCAR banquet at 6PM. Saturday is Canon Beach where we got caught in the hurricane last year. We need to go to "Cranky Sue’s" the place we had lunch last year. The only place open in Canon Beach the storm. Then it is Sunday and home.
