Remembering

It has been a busy last two days. Some fun and some sadness. Thursday started with golf at the course here. Great Eagle. Great Eagle is a good challenge. Seemed to be greener this year than last. This course runns all around Happy Trails.

We played with Virginia Hessler, a friend from home that lives and works down here now. Bill Hinken our landloaard from our visit here last year p[layed with us. Bill and his wife had us over for drinks a couple days ago. After golf we went to Virginia's house for a good meatloaf dinner. Spent the evening visiting. Her friend Charlotte came for diner as well.

The sadness came when we got home that evening. I got a call that told me a very good friend had passed away. Ed Rufenaught. Ed and Lee were our next door neighbors for 25 years. It was normal routine to go across the street at about 4:30 for driveway time. Ed was always the guy who would lend a hand. He and I were partners in Pinochle. We won every season. Girls only got a short summer season. He was a great guy who will be missed a lot. Our hearts go to Lee as she will miss him the most.

Friday was another day of golf. This time we went to Westbrook Village. This course is one of the ones on Twin Lakes Private Club Network list. In other words we got to play for $25 bucks each, including the cart. Very nice track running thru the community. Meat some folks from down south. I finally lost my golf ball. I had 53 holes of golf out of it before it went for a swim on the 18th.

When we came home our friend Richard Dimmick came over for a visit. He has a new girl friend and they are moving into a new place not too far from here. We visited for a while then had chicken dinner.
