The big day is here.

Sunday May 17, 2009----The big day---The wedding----And it was a GREAT day at the beach

Kristy and Tony are getting married.

We did have a little build up to the big day. In the morning we all ended up on the beach for a walk. The group at the Tsunami house headed north while the group in the city headed south. Others of us started from the local park. We all ended up out there on the beach and had a group picture.

Saturday night was the rehearsal dinner at the Tsunami house. Margie and I being the parents of the groom got to do dinner. Kristy had requested lasagna, so I made a few, like 6. Margie was in charge of salad, bread and the stuff to serve it on. We also got a few beers, some wine and Spumoni ice cream. Lasagna, salad, bread and stuff to put it on was right on for quantity. I brought 6 gallons of wine which I still have 5 and Margie got 4 gallons of ice cream which I hope she has a lot left. The beer went quickly. It was a good party.

The groom to be

Jo and Tom

Just a note here. I didn't get to talk too much to Jo and Tom, but when I did the seem like really nice folks. I can see where Kristy got to be so nice. Their whole family are really great to get to know. I hope we get to see more of them in the future. Charlie misses Jada and the beach. We are glad to welcome them as members of our family.

Kristy and Tony

I told Tony that when Sue and I got married our friend Larry Ness gave me the following advice. Learn two sentences. "Yes Dear" and "Your Right Dear" Sue added "Can I have another $110 bill" Not sure about the last.

Tony and Margie at the Spumoni Ice Cream dish. Spumoni is GOOD!!!!!!

I was really worried what would happen if I had my picture taken in a Suit. Well it happened. I had Mike take my picture and darn if the lens broke. Had to get a new camera for the rest of the pictures. :) :)

So just after the camera broke I got to hang with Tony, Mike and Heather. This was sort of the holding area for the grooms pictures prior to the wedding. Mark the official photo guy got there and took a lot of pictures.

Next it was getting ready for the wedding. This was to take place just north of the Tsunami house. Just about the time to get moving to the beach the wind came up a bit and the fog rolled in a bit. There was a short time when it almost got to a change of venue because of the weather. But all was well and we continued on to the beach. I walked with Tony on the way down. I guess it's a dad responibilty to give wedding day advice. I told him "You done good" "When you get to Hawaii get in Maui time ""SLOW"" and bring it back home"

Jeanne was to be the minister for the wedding. Yes she became a minister so she could marry, as she said "Her two best Friends" She was a bit nervous waiting for everything to get rolling. Looks like Tony and Shane (The best man) were too. Jeanne did a wounderful job. It was so special to see her , Tony and Kristy celebrating together. ""Tears from Me"""

Others looked on, like Skip and his wife (Skip is Tonys boss at A Sharp Music) where Tony has worked for 17 years so I hear. He started there when he was still in high school. Skip put him to work because he was always hanging around when on break from the pizza next door. Skip actually closed the store so they could attend the wedding. Thanks Skip.

Here are a few other on lookers.

And here comes the bride and her proud dad. I don't know about Tom, but I had a few tears in my eyes, well quite a few as things got rolling.

And there they go. Mr and Mrs Tony Bennett. :)) That's what Jeanne said. I think it was suppose to be Stevens but Jeanne was entitled to one boo boo. Although a lot of folks were asking Tony if he was going to be "Tony Bennett"

A bit later it was time for the reception. This was held in the convention center in Cannon Beach. Kristy and friends had been there to set things up in the morning and then Tony set up the sound system. They did this separately so as not see each other on the wedding day. Everything was nicely set up. Barbecue dinner with the trimmings. Good wine and beer.

It was just a really great day. Sue and I are so happy to have Kristy as a member of our family. She is such a cool gal. And I know that she and Tony are really in love.

Now a note to blog viewers. I have a lot more pictures that would take a zillion years to post with captions, so I will be using a slide show at the side of the page. You should be able to just double click on the slide show, then go to the upper left corner where it says slide show and click. A bar showes up at the bottomof the pictures where you can pick your speed to watch and then youcan watch all the pictures in a larger version. It was hard to pick what to post in the main blog. I didn't get as many pictures of Kristy and her family as I would like because I was on the other side so to speak. (I was hanging with the groom) Just a final thank you to everyone who took the time to come share Tony and Kristy's moment.

And as always I close with another moment of Charlie being exhausted. Now what is that "W"?
